A diverse musical vocabulary is evident in Moshe's songs and compositions. Whether writing for a chamber ensemble,a rock band, film, or electronics he imbues it with his unique sound, and when he engineers it is no different. He has recorded many artists in many styles. He has functioned as a recording, mix and mastering engineer for various projects. Being a musician himself he understands the nature of recording not only as a function but as an art which must convey the essence of the work. In other words Moshe doesn't just engineer he attempts to bring musicality to his mixes and a standard of quality that represents a refined and solid presentation. This principle is Moshe's guiding force with any project he works on; to bring out the best possible qualities and use them to create a solid product. This applies whether it is educational, musical, sound design, performance or well... anything for that matter! "Striving for Excellence" is his motto.
As an "academic," Moshe is involved in the study of composition as well as ancient (pre-western) music and its functions in society. He has studied the music of Guillame de Machaut (14th Century), particularly his motets, extensively and 18th Century Italian Style Opera. He is also up to date with compositional trends in art music from 1950-Present as well as trends in popular music in the 20th century as well as today.. His interest in Jewish Liturgical music is among the many areas of special interest that Moshe is involved in musicological study and compositional practice. Always looking to advance his knowledge of music Moshe is always on the lookout for new and interesting musical projects which will challenge him to grow.
While it seems like Moshe is wearing many hats it is really nothing more than how he manifests his musical personality. As he will tell you "...all it really is, is the way in which my music manifests itself. It may look like a lot of separate disciplines but the truth is they all intertwine and overlap. It has a sublime unity under it all"
